We receive many requests to install pot lights on the exterior Sofits of homes. These lights certainly add a beautiful night time ambiance and curb appeal to any home.
* However, understand that this is a lot easier done during the original construction of the home.
It is very costly, and next to impossible to have them custom installed after the fact.
Complicating Factors in any existing two storey home would include siding, confined attic, height and a feed etc..(we will cut this short here)
* Other possible scenarios might include garage Sofits along a walkway which are more accessible from within the garage.
Also chances are, you have an existing switched feed running through the garage to the front exterior coach lights, that you can wire into. A bungalow style home may also provide a little more access to the Sofit and will also not be as difficult wiring a feed off your front hall switch or timer.
